Tabata Training is one of the most popular forms of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). HIIT has dramatically increased in popularity due to it’s ability to provide big results in the shortest amount of time.
Here at Solo Soccer we have designed a true Tabata training routine specifically for soccer players looking to improve their fitness, speed and agility. Many other coaches and training websites claim to offer Tabata Training routines for soccer players, but in fact, they are just your average run of the mill HIIT workouts.
To provide a true Tabata routine, it is important to fully understand the concept of Tabata training. Tabata training was designed to be completed within 4 minutes. Yes, FOUR minutes. In fact, within those for minutes, you will spend 80 seconds resting. Tabata is designed to be performed at maximum intensity, pushing your body to it’s absolute limit during the 160 seconds of exercise.
The layout is simple. One exercise, perform at your maximum capacity for 20 seconds and then rest for 10 seconds. Easy? Repeat this 8 time’s and tell us how you feel in the comments section below.
